The Beauty that Invites Prayer

NEWS: Liturgical Song Features in the Plenary Council Masses

This week the Catholic Church in Australia has marked an important milestone in its development and growth - the First Session of the 2020 Plenary Council. The Final Session will be held in Sydney in 9 months time.

The Plenary Council seeks to renew the Australian Church in the way it approaches its mission, ministry and governance practices. Liturgical Song is pleased to have ben honoured by the choice of many of the songs sung in the eight Masses held this past week.

Mass Shalom (Colin D. Smith cc and Paul Mason) featured in four of the Masses, including the opening and closing Masses. Responsorial psalms composed by Paul Mason (Lord Let Your Mercy Be On Us) and Roger Heagney (Lord, Send Out Your Spirit) helped people pray the Liturgy of the Word. And Paul Mason's Power of the Spirit, the Wollongong Diocese's Plenary Council song, featured as the final song in Friday's Mass. For more, Plenary Council website.
